“Parent Project: Changing Destructive Adolescent Behavior and Raising Difficult Children in a Difficult Word” (Kootenai County Juvenile Justice) Parent Project is a parenting skills program specifically created to help parents identify, prevent and intervene in the most destructive of adolescent behaviors. Learn how to: Improve your child's school attendance and performance; Identify and stop alcohol, drug, and gang involvement; and, Stop unwanted or out-of-control behavior. Using ethical principles, the curriculum offers practical, no nonsense solutions to the issues parents face today. Classes are Wednesdays, 9/15 to 12/1, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Kootenai County Admin. “Becoming a Love and Logic Parent (for parenting kids of all ages)” (ICARE) Has your child ever had a "melt down" in the grocery store, and you've found yourself thinking, "There's got to be a better way?" Is getting your kids ready for school in the morning a fight? Is getting your kids to bed an exercise in frustration? Love and Logic is a fun and logical approach to parenting, and it really works. Classes are Saturdays, 10/16 and 10/23, at the Church of the Nazarene, 4000 N. 4th St., Cd'A. Class cost is $25 and includes a parent notebook. Childcare is provided for ages 2 and up. “Circle of Parents” (ICARE) Join us for a parent-let self-help group where parents and caregivers can share ideas, celebrate successes, and address the challenges surrounding parenting. Bring a friend for adult conversation, and bring your children for social interaction!
