The Search Institute

For more than 50 years, Search Institute® has been a leader and partner for organizations around the world in discovering what kids need to succeed. The knowledge and resources help motivate and equip caring adults to create schools, communities, and families where young people thrive. Their mission is to provide catalytic leadership, breakthrough knowledge, and innovative resources to advance the health of children, youth, families, and communities.

Kootenai Alliance for Children & Families wants to share the Search Institute's resources for the 40 Developmental Assests that are  building blocks to developing a healthy, caring, and responsible young person.

Each Developmental Asset List is specific to the age/grade ranges of our developing youth. Under each asset you can hover over the "Take Action" link to learn how to help your child develop more in that specific category.

The Asset Checklist is for your child/teen to take so you can assess where you can help them grow. The average youth selects 18-20 assets.
