ABOUT
Who We Are
Kootenai Alliance for Children and Families (KACF) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to foster a safe, healthy, and drug-free community through strong partnerships and effective programs that reduce at-risk behavior in our community’s youth and create strong families.
As a membership coalition, KACF is made up of numerous agencies, organizations, and individuals that cross over every sector of the community. The diversity of our membership includes youth, parents, business community, media, schools, youth-serving organizations, law enforcement agencies, religious and fraternal organizations, civic groups, healthcare professionals, as well as agencies and organizations with expertise in substance abuse. Having participation from these sectors of the community allows us to share important information and collaborate on programs and events between community members that have the highest level of impact on our youth and families.
What We Do
KACF works to strengthen community collaboration and prevention efforts, encourage community participation, and coordinate events and activities with community partners to disseminate information to our youth, their families, and the community.
Since 1995, KACF has been responsible for spearheading and providing oversight and resources for several prevention activities and services, many of which are still happening today. Some of these programs include Kid’s Day in the Park, the North Idaho Family Magazine, the Idaho Youth Summit and the GAP Program.
