ABOUT KACF

What We Do

KACF works to strengthen community collaboration and prevention efforts, encourage community participation, and coordinate events and activities with community partners to disseminate information to our youth, their families, and the community.

With that in mind, KACF has been responsible for spearheading and providing oversight and resources for several prevention activities and services over the past ten years, many of which are still going on today.  Some of these programs include:

·          Kids Day in the Park

·          The North Idaho Family Magazine

·          The Idaho Youth Summit

·          The GAP Program in the Post Falls School District

·          Strengthening Families Program

·          Art For All Bus Shelters

·          UN Convention on Rights of The Child awareness Seminars

·          Lunch & Learn

To see our most recent efforts, please visit our                     Sponsored Projects page.

Since January 2003, KACF has been in the process of becoming a Communities That Care® organization.  Through this process, KACF has been able to identify the risk factors for the youth in Kootenai County, as determined by the youth themselves.  These risk factors are:

·          Family management

·          Family history of the problem behavior

·          Early initiation of the problem behavior

·          Transitions and mobility
